Theater Fraud Against An American Carol?

I heard the first reports of possible theater fraud against An American Carol over the weekend when Jayme Siemer, EM Zanotti, and Jenn Sierra said they had visited a theater in Oklahoma to see the film. According to the three whom I know personally, the theater had “R” as the movie rating instead of “PG-13″. This could certainly be a mistake, but it was noted that the staff were aware of the problem, and it had been that way for two days.

The problem, however, is that this is now the third instance of this that I’ve heard of. And now, to make matters worse, a source of mine from within the industry and with close ties to the film tells me that there is an open investigation into at least TEN movie theaters that have apparently attributed sales of An American Carol movie tickets to OTHER MOVIES!

In fact, the actual An American Carol website currently has a page up asking movie goers who have questionable tickets to send photo copies and submit other tips.

I’ll bring you the updates as they come in. If this turns out to be true, it would once again expose liberalism for what it is… one big fraud.

Hey Eric,

I’ve spoken to you on #Dontgo on Twitter.
What are you hearing about the “An American Carol” possible investigation? I attempted the link on your site, on Okie’s site, and on Newsbusted’s site for the web page, nothing there.

Let me know what I can do to spread the word. I have well-trafficed blog also, happy to post links and whatever you find.

Tara Lynn
P.S. I took a group of friends to see it at Cinemark on 71st this weekend who have been getting together on Sunday afternoons to pray for McCain/Palin/and the country. If there are any other groups doing this, meeting or praying or doing whatever, please let me know. We’d love to meet up with as many as possible and are here to help.
Thanks!

I am currently serving in the Army and stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. I went to see “An American Carol” on Saturday, 04 OCT. I told the ticket girl I wanted one ticket for An American Carol, and she printed out a ticket for “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”. I took the ticket to the ticket checker to have the ticket torn and the ticket guy would not let me pass to see An American Carol. I had to talk to one of the theater staff who let me pass to see An American Carol. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, and I am 45 years old and seeing movies for decades. Now that I think about it, your blog makes sense and it may not have been an honest error. Thank you.

I tried to report fraud to the appointed website. However, said website was not there! Here is a sample of my report:
I saw the movie this past weekend, and I noticed not some, but a lot of irregularities:
First, everyone I know (at work, around my neighborhood, at the bar, etc) told me NOT to go see it because it SUCKED! Even though I am sure most of those people had NOT seen it, they were biased against it! Tell me if this is not but one BIG conspiracy? Then there were the problems at the theater, starting with the lady who handed me the ticket. She looked at me with such disdainfulness that it ruined the rest of the experience. Something must have been slipped in my drink also, because I had to go to the restroom every 15 minutes or so, and I missed most of the better parts of the movie. Maybe that is why I too came out of the movie house with the impression that it was a piece of crap film, with no humor and a lousy plot line, and wanting a refund.
I am willing to see it again (this time I will make sure NOT to dring anything for 2 hours before showtime) and see everything I missed. Unfortunately I can not shell out another $12.00 because I’m out of business, lost my house recently, and have no credit. I am therefore asking you to give me a free ticket in order to see this great patriotic film in its entirety. Please send me an email if you are willing to do this patriotic favor for me.
Humbly yours,

I have been tracking the ticket sales between An American Carol and Religilous. My girlfriend and I saw An American Carol the first day it came out. I was happy to support the movie. Last week I found my ticket stub for that night. It said Religilous. I was irate.
